Filipinos consume the most gin in the world, around 1.4 liters per person a year, The Economist reports.
That’s not all, though, Filipinos drink about as much rum a year too. The Philippines places first in gin consumption against a worldwide consumption of 440 million liters of the stuff a year, data from International Wine & Spirit Research says.
Filipinos place fourth in rum consumption against global consumption of 1.47 billion a year. Although India drinks the most rum, your average Indian only drinks 0.3 liters a year against the average 1.4 liters a year per Filipino. Your typical Cuban, though, based on the data, would drink a Filipino under the table. Their average consumption is 4.9 liters of rum per person a year.
This website is still waiting for figures on Videoke drinking spree-related injuries and deaths before making any conclusions, but we bet we’d top that too.
