MMDA holds self-improvement seminars for officers

They can teach all the things they want, but if the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority wants its ranks of some 1,800 enforcers to be taken seriously, it better rid itself of officers who like to flaunt and abuse their authority. The agency began a series of seminars for traffic constables on Tuesday tackling subjects on personality development, good grooming, and communication skills. An official says the retraining seeks to make the enforcers gain “respect” of motorists. But isn’t respect gained when one does good deeds and doesn’t abuse one’s position of authority? MM
