A radio broadcaster took a nap Monday afternoon only to wake up with over P300,000 worth of valuables gone with the wind. Police identified the victim as Eduardo Verzola, 61, whose house in Carmel 5 subdivision in Barangay Tandang Sora, Quezon City was broken into by burglars. Verzola lost P300,000 in jewelry, P52,000 in laptops, P10,000 worth of cellphones and two designer bags worth P3,700. Police investigation showed that Verzola, who has a radio program at dWBL, took a nap and thieves broke in between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. He woke up and “discovered that the rooms in his house have been forced open,” reports the Philippine Daily Inquirer. Lesson learned: have a companion watch over the house while taking a nap.
