Ways to donate to #YolandaPH from outside the Philippines

You’ve probably been inundated with how-to-help in #YolandaPH guides by now.  They’re all great ways to extend help to #YolandaPH victims, but one thing we noticed, these outlets are mostly directed to Philippine-based donors. We’ve been getting a lot of queries from OFWs based abroad asking how they can contribute in the relief operations, from where they are. Here are a few options:

Red Cross. Red Cross is one of the more integrated global organizations, with chapters in a lot of countries in the world. The Philippine Chapter has been one of the more visible organizations extending help right on the field, and with the remote offices integrating their efforts on social media. Go to the Integrated Federation of Red Cross and Red Cresent societies website where the chapter of your local country can assist you.

International Medical Corporation. If you’re specific about extending medical help, the International Medical Corporation is an organization that provides medical aid and medical supplies on the ground. Pledging donations should help their team who are already in the Philippines since the Bohol earthquake. Click this link.

Medicins Sans Frontiers. This international medical charity has set up camp in Cebu, and on its website, explains the sort of help they badly need most: anti-tetanus vaccines, pyschological help. In there, too, you get updates about what their team on field is doing, so you know where your money is going. Of course, you can make pledges over there. Please click this link.
