Bilibid Prison inmates donate to Typhoon Yolanda victims

It’s a touching gesture no matter where it’s from.

“Inmates at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa donated their personal belongings to help the victims of Typhoon Yolanda, which caused enormous destruction and killed thousands of people in the Visayas region,” reports the Manila Bulletin.

According to NBP Supt. Venancio Tesoro, the prisoners themselves initiated the idea. They have given their spare shirts, blankets, sandals, and noodles for relief efforts for thousands of families who are suffering because of the typhoon.

The latest reports reveal that about 1.38 million families in 39 provinces were affected by the typhoon.
