Viral: Hostage-taking prank in QC resto ends with a proposal

We’re not sure if this is the wisest way to propose — what with similar scenarios that are actually happening for real in Metro Manila.

But, hey, it sure is creative.

“Last Saturday, Nov 23, cameras recorded an apparent hostage-taking — which turned out to be an elaborate prank ending as an actual wedding proposal — inside the Van Gogh Is Bipolar restaurant in Teachers’ Village, Quezon City,” reports ABS-CBNNews.com.

The hostage-taking prank involved an “armed” man (played by actor Leon Miguel) supposedly being chased by the police. The man goes inside the restaurant and takes a guy named Calvin Leorna hostage. After some seemingly dramatic exchanges with the “hostage-taker,” Leorna then turns to his girlfriend Annabelle Jay-Ar Trono and proposes.

You have to watch the video to see Trono’s her reaction.

The video of the prank was uploaded on YouTube by producer Tootoots Leyesa.

In case you’re curious, the couple are set to get married in late December.
