The holidays are upon us and one of the people who remind us of that each day are taxi drivers who seem to get pickier with the passengers they transport as Christmas rolls around.
“According to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), they have been receiving a higher number of complaints since October — going from 1,124 complaints in the third quarter to 1,512 in the fourth quarter,” reports ABS-CBN News correspondent Zen Hernandez.
Well, there’s good news for all the taxi rider who have been rejected or fleeced by those picky drivers.
Apparently, under the Certificate of Public Conveyance, no taxi driver has the right to be picky (within reason, of course). The first offense entails a fine of PHP6,000, the second offense involves a three-month suspension of the franchise, and the third offense leads to a candcellation of the franchise.
The LTFRB reminds complainants “to take note of a taxi’s name and plate number to allow the authorities to trace the driver and operator and implement the appropriate sanction.”
You can also file your complaint on LTFRB’s website.

Most of the time that i complain thee drivers, whenever they are called for at the LTFRB, their reason together with their "AMO" is that they are on their way home. Then, nothing happens to the complaint.
