Red hot chili peppers headlines the 7107 International Music Festival

UPDATE (Dec 12): Finally! 7107 International Music Festival has updated their website and Facebook account, confirming that yes, indeed ma’am/sir, none other than the Red Hot Chili Peppers will be headlining the February gig in Clark, Pampanga. Check out the poster that they finally released:

Empire of the Sun is looking delicious there, too, as the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and the entire Terno Recordings family. Yay! Note: This is only phase 1 of their line-up, which means there can be changes along the way. Which means, more bands to look forward to. Yay!

Tickets are also now available via their website. The pre-sale 2-day general admissions pass rings for only PHP 8,500, while the 2-day pre-sale VIP pass is at PHP20,000.

(Dec 11) Late last night, right before we logged off the interwebz, a few—nay, a lot!— of our music-loving friends went berzerk and starting posting a Manila Clubbing.com link about the 7107 International Music happening on Feb 22-23 at Clark, Pampanga. Imagine, going on a road trip to experience high-caliber acts performing on two stages?!

This morning, we checked the site to confirm we weren’t dreaming, but the line-up disappeared from the post, which, by the way, has a time stamp of Aug 6, 2013. Good thing a leaked poster was circulating social media, and this time, people are raving about Red Hot Chilli Peppers headlining the show. While the 7107 team has yet to confirm anything (check out their Facebook page), insiders say Red Hot is pretty much good to go.

In any case, Toti Dalmacion, head honcho of Terno Recordings, has confirmed to Coconuts Manila that all his bands—Up Dharma Down, Radioactive Sago Project, Sleepwalk Circus, Encounters with a Yeti, The Charmes, Hidden Nikki, Yolanda Moon, Popular Days, Child/ren of the Pilgrimage, Maude, and Musical O— are confirmed. Which means, there is a gig to which they confirmed. Which means, the music fest must be true.

Because it is hump day Wednesday, and we’re free to dream, we are listing the five rumored performers we’d love to see perform on Philippine soil during the 1707 International Music Festival:

1. Arcade Fire. Easily one of the best rock bands right now! We want them to sing “Wake Up” and experience how a heady balloon drop feels like! Have you seen their Coachella 2011 performance? No? Well, check below!

2. Kanye West. Because his records are brilliant and on paper, he is brilliant, and we want to know if he is just as so on stage! Also: What are the chances he’ll take Kim Kardashian and North West along?

 3. Jay Z. Because should Yeesus be confirmed, then we get to experience this:

4. Snoop Dogg. The last time the sweet leaf was passed around, making people feel as though they was part of a collective was in 2007, when Damien Marley performed at a posh hotel in Manila and that has been so long. Now, can you imagine that while Snoop (Dogg? Lion? Zilla?) performs “Young Wild and Free?”

5. Drake. We wanna see the hip-hop artist, who made pa-uso the term “Yolo” utter the goddamn phrase!

At this point, we’re joining y’all freshing and refreshing 7107 International Music Festival’s Facebook page and website. Because as they said, they are the only source of reliable sources of information. But if we may: 7107 IMF is the first reliable source of information. You can expect Coconuts Manila to be the second, tee hee.
