Rice for Yolanda survivors end up in Tacloban eateries

How low can these people go?

“Authorities discovered that some sacks of rice intended for survivors of Typhoon Yolanda are being sold in eateries in Tacloban City,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.

The report revealed that in one establishment, “police discovered 17 sacks of rice being used for commercial purposes.”

Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Dinky Soliman said charges will be filed today against the owner of the eatery who bought the rice intended for relief operations in Tacloban.

Authorities are investigating the incident further and are asking the eatery owner to reveal who sold her the rice.
