Traffic advisory: MMDA’s tip for Holy Week exodus

There will be road works in Metro Manila during Holy Week, so it’s best to get out early.

“A number of people have started going home to the provinces, amid the expected heavy traffic during Holy Week due to the road reblocking scheduled by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA),” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.

Indeed, the MMDA says road reblocking will commence this weekend, starting with four roads at the southbound lane of EDSA including Cubao, Taft, Pasay Road and Urdaneta. There will also be reblocking on the northbound lane before JP Rizal in Makati.

Of course, road works will be done on EDSA, with 33 areas of the southbound lane to be repaired until Good Friday and 38 sections at the northbound lane until Easter Sunday.

This is why MMDA chairman Atty. Francis Tolentino advised that people should get out of Metro Manila by April 14 or April 15 and come back on April 21.
