5 ways to enjoy your Magnum

Manila’s new “it” place is an ice cream bar.

Magnum Pleasure Store — a pop-up shop at SM Aura’s SkyPark Dining that will stay open for a year —  is a sleek café designed by architect Ed Calma, with custom-made artwork made from popsicle sticks.

“It’s as fancy as it gets,” writes Vladimir Bunoan on ABS-CBNnews.com. The Manila design will be adapted in 21 countries, including France (Cannes), Spain (Madrid) and Brazil (Rio de Janeiro), according to the report. 

The café serves both sweet and savory dishes by chefs Miko Aspiras and Him Uy de Baron, respectively.

The best part: You can make your own Magnum (PHP100) by selecting your own toppings, like Solenn Heussaff below.

Choices include almonds and crushed chocolate chip cookies as well special choices like freeze-dried raspberries or gold nuggets, and experimental toppings like chili flakes or sea salt.

Or if you’d rather order ala carte, here are five ways to enjoy your Magnum.

1. PINK FRIDAY
What it is: Strawberry marbled cheesecake on a bed of speculoos tea cookies and and strawberry nerds, topped with Strawberry marbled cheesecake, on a bed of speculoos tea cookies and strawberry nerds, topped with a pink chocolate dusted vanilla Magnum and strawberry coulis.

2. APPLE PIE
What it is: Vanilla Magnum coated in caramel sauce, served with a slice of warm apple pie, chunky apple mash, pistachios and whipped cream.

3. RED VELVET
What it is: Moist red velvet cake and cream cheese, on a slate paired with vanilla magnum and dark chocolate sauce, crushed pistachios and red velvet crumble.

4. COOKIE DOUGH
What it is: Warm chocolate chip cookie dough topped with two vanilla Magnum bars, dark chocolate and chopped pecans.

5. DEATH BY CHOCOLATE
What it is: Deep dark chocolate lava cake and chocolate truffle Magnum topped with brownie pieces and chocolate crispearls.
