Manila Cathedral re-opens after 2 years

Call it a divine comeback.

“The Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception also known as the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros re-opens its doors to the public today, after two years of restorative work,” reports Leslie Ann Aquino in the Manila Bulletin.

The Manila Cathedral was shut down in February, 2012 due to questions regarding its structural integrity.

Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle will say the mass for the cathedral’s re-opening at 6:30pm.

Before the mass, a short video will be shown showing the restoration of the cathedral.
