Pacman must win vs. Bradley or else he may retire, says Roach

The coach knows best.

“American trainer Freddie Roach says Pinoy boxing champ Manny Pacquiao will consider retirement if he loses to reigning World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Timothy Bradley in their rematch on April 12 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas,” reports Josef T. Ramos in The Manila Times.

Roach explained, “This is a ‘must-win’ situation on Saturday night, and if we don’t win this fight we have to consider maybe retirement.”

When asked if anything was distracting Pacquiao, Roach revealed, “Not right now. To be fair, he doesn’t have too much on, because he is very focused on this fight. The thing is The Bible is getting in the way a little bit, but I showed him in The Bible there is violence and there is payback. I’ve had to work on that with him, because it does take his attention and can affect his mindset [for training].”

The report noted that “the 35-year-old Pacquiao holds a 55-5-2 win-loss-draw card with 38 knockouts.”
