Customs official allegedly fires gun by accident in office

So, did he or didn’t he?

“On Friday, April 11, Arnulfo Gambayan, the director of the Import Assessment Service (IAS) under the Bureau of Customs (BOC), was said to have caused a security scare when he allegedly fired his gun by accident while he was in his office,” reports Raymund F. Antonio in the Manila Bulletin.

According to the report, witnesses said that Gambayan had his handgun cocked and it resulted in the accidental discharge.

However, BOC’s Public Information and Assistance Division chief Charo Logarta-Lagamon disputed the witnesses’ accounts, saying, “It was (Gambayan’s) security aide who accidentally fired his gun while unloading it.”

But when Logarta-Lagamon was asked for the name of the said security aide, she could only say that she didn’t know him.
