Arrested: 3 robbers targeting pedestrians and commuters

Serves them right.

“Reywin Lazaro, 19; Junel Victorino, 18; and Ranz Axel Gutierrez, 20, who are alleged members of a robbery group preying on pedestrians and commuters, were arrested by police after victimizing a Pasay City Hall employee early Tuesday morning, April 15,” reports Mitch Arceo in Tempo.

The trio’s cohorts, Jigger Bacolod, 18; and Rolando Navalta, 21, remain at large.

The group’s latest victim had been Raphael Dohello, 51, a member of the maintenance team of Pasay City Hall, who was walking on his way home at about 3am. The robbers had threatened him with knives and they ended up taking his mobile phone, jewelry, and cash before they fled towards Apelo Cruz Street, Pasay.

Fortunately, Dohello saw PO1 Jefferson Besmano and sought his help. Besmano and some barangay officials then chased the robbers.

The report said that “further investigation revealed that the same group was behind robbery incidents inside buses and jeepneys in Pasay City.”
