Jinggoy’s Holy Week message to his haters

Senator Jinggoy Estrada is one of those facing plunder and corruption charges in connection with the PHP10-billion pork barrel scam so it’s interesting to know what’s on his mind during Holy Week. What he said was documented by Maila Ager on Inquirer.net.

In an interview about calls for reflection and renewal this Lenten season, Senator Jinggoy Estrada, who has been in the United States since Congress took a break last month, said, “Lagi naman ako nagsasagawa ng spiritual renewal. Basta ako ipagdadasal ko mga detractors ko ngayong Holy Week. I will pray for them to enlighten them sana maging makatao sila at huwag maging oportunista (I always go through a spiritual renewal. I will pray for my detractors this Holy Week. I will pray for them to enlighten them so that they will be humane, and not opportunistic).”

Estrada explained, “I’m not a vindictive person. I strongly believe that in the end, God will be always be the judge. Revenge is not mine. It is up to God.” He also added that he would also “pray that Ombudsman and the Sandiganbayan justices would be enlightened and would not judge him and his co-accused unfairly.”

Estrada is set to return to the country on Monday, April 21.
