PH needs more exorcists, says Pasig priest

There’s a reality show in here somewhere.

“Father Daniel Estacio, exorcist of the Diocese of Pasig, said there is a need for more exorcists due to the number of possessions by evil spirits in the country,” reports Leslie Ann Aquino in Tempo.

Estacio, who took a course on exorcism in Rome, is one of the six priests who function as exorcists in the Archdiocese of Manila.

Estacio’s concern was echoed by Fr. Francis Lucas, the former executive secretary of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) Episcopal Commission on Social Communications and Mass Media.

Lucas had said that while he “doesn’t have an exact estimate” of how many possessions happen in the country, he could easily say that “the usual victims are teenagers.”
