QC cops renew wedding vows

This isn’t a Holy Week tradition, but the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) decided to do it, anyway.

“In fact, Chief Superintendent Richard Albano, who heads the QCPD served as the wedding singer as his policemen and their wives walked down the aisle for a mass renewal of vows at the QCPD chapel on Tuesday afternoon, April 15,” reports Reinir Padua in The Philippine Star.

Aside from the wedding crooner, Albano was also the ninong (godfather) to the seven couples who renewed their vows. It was revealed that the ceremony was also Albano’s way of celebrating his 54th birthday.

According to QCPD chaplain Fr. Alex Pardo “it was the first time a mass wedding was held at Camp Karingal.”
