What, exactly, is in a haircut?

The Queen of All Media definitely surprised viewers when she debuted her severe pixie haircut last night, April 21, on her show Aquino & Abunda Tonight.

Boy Abunda, Kris Aquino’s co-host, asked if her drastic haircut meant something was over (read: her relationship with Herbert Bautista), and she replied, “Ayoko na ng heartache, ‘yun lang.” He then told her that heartache is not a choice and that if it does happen again one should move on and rise above heartaches. “I was not prepared to talk about that!” Kris said. “I was only prepared to talk about my hair!”

Is she still dating Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista? Not anymore.

“Funfare learned that it was Herbert who gave up, forced into it no doubt by the unpleasant write-ups against him,” reports Ricky Lo, entertainment editor at The Philippine Star.

It never had a chance.

“The situation is simply much too complicated. Kris has two sons, Joshua and Bimby; while Herbert has five by two women, neither of whom he married, although his current partner (in private and in politics) Tates Gana, who has stuck with him for almost two decades as the wind beneath his wings, is generally accepted as Q.C.’s First Lady,” adds the report.

Thirteen hours before she went on air, Kris posted this Coco Chanel quote on her Instagram.

The talents behind the haircut and color highlights, if you are interested to know, are Orego, Roger and Malou of Jing Monis Salon.

While some people congratulated Kris for her bold new ‘do, others didn’t like it, expressing their shock and dislike online.
