Napoles’ lawyer says she’ll tell all even if she isn’t state witness

When it feels like everyone hates you or has lost faith in you, hire a lawyer who will make you feel better.

“Atty. Bruce Rivera, the legal counsel of alleged pork barrel scam player Janet Lim Napoles, said that his client is willing to tell the truth even without the guarantee of being admitted as a state witness in the case which will make her immune from the suit,” reports Dharel Placido on ABS-CBNnews.com.

Rivera was quoted as saying, “Ang sinasabi ni Mrs. Napoles, gusto niyang makausap si [Justice Secretary Leila] De Lima. Gusto niyang sabihin ang kanyang nalalaman. Kung tatanggapin siyang state witness bakit hindi, pero kapag hindi naman eh di okay lang (What Mrs. Napoles is saying is that she wants to talk to De Lima. If she’s accepted as state witness, why not? If she isn’t, then it’s still OK).”

Rivera went on say that, in fact, Napoles “had thought about coming forward even before she faced the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing on the scam last November, which saw billions of Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) being diverted to bogus non-government organizations.”

However, Rivera said that when she faced the Senate last year, Napoles was still “confused and disoriented.”
