It can’t get any sleazier than this.
“On Tuesday, April 22, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) rescued 19 women, believed to be victims of human trafficking, in a raid at the Starwood VIP Lounge in Pasay City,” reports Leonard Postrado in Manila Bulletin.
According to NBI Anti-Human Trafficking Division (NBI-ATHRAD) chief Atty. Dante Bonoan, the rescued group were composed of 13 Filipinas, three Russians, and three Ukranians.
Bonoan noted, “Ito ang kauna-unahang bar na na-raid natin na may nag-aalok ng foreigner na GRO (Of all the bars we had raided, this is the first bar that offers foreigner GRO).” (In case you don’t know, GRO stands for “guest relations officer.”)
Bonoan added that “the NBI learned that Starwood previously operated in Makati City but the establishment was raided and padlocked.”
