Spoof report prompts U.S. embassy to make statement

Adobo Chronicles has done it again. Its spoof article, “U.S. announces ‘no visa’ policy for Filipinos,” got a lot of netizens excited.

Soon enough, the Philippine Embassy in Washington D.C. had to make post a statement on its website, saying, “The embassy of the Republic of the Philippines would like to inform the public that there is no truth to what appears to be an online news report that the United States has announced a ‘no visa’ policy for Filipinos.”

“Meanwhile, the US Embassy in Manila said there has been no change in the visa policy for Filipinos traveling to the U.S.,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.

What is not a hoax is this: Starting June, Filipinos can travel visa-free to Japan.
