What did Napoles tell De Lima?

Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Leila De Lima isn’t spilling the beans just yet, but she gave an overview on what alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim Napoles has told her.

In a press conference on Tuesday, April 22, De Lima said that she recently had a five-hour meeting with Napoles at the Ospital ng Makati.

De Lima said that Napoles was ready to “tell all” because she feared for her life. At the time of their meeting, Napoles was getting ready for her surgery, which was eventually performed on Wednesday morning, April 23.

“In any case, De Lima explained that Napoles had also disclosed some ‘documentary evidence’ during their five-hour meeting,” reports Camille Diola on Philstar.com.

De Lima revealed some details that Napoles had allegedly told her. Here are some of them:

1. The alleged involvement of Senators Juan Ponce Enrile, Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr., and Jinggoy Estrada was reportedly confirmed by Napoles.

2. De Lima demanded that Napoles speak only to her even if there is no guarantee for her to be a state witness. “Ayoko na may iba pa siyang kakusapin [and] no commitment to make her state witness.”

3. Napoles told De Lima that there were also other bogus non-government organizations involved in the misuse of the pork barrel funds.

4. Napoles also has information about the participants of the Malampaya Fund scam.

5. Napoles has been getting death threats. But De Lima said, “Now, those threatening her don’t have the motivation to silence her, because we have obtained her statement.”

Napoles is currently in recovery after the surgery which removed her uterus and both her ovaries. She had been suffering from severe adenomyosis with multiple adenomyomata.
