Viral: The 7 Best #Laboracay Photos on Instagram Right Now

What is up with that #Labora what hashtag? You must be seeing it more and more these days. We are less than a week from May 1 Labor day after all. We mean #Laboracay—also known as the day when the whole of Manila invades Boracay, or what these people like to call it: Bora.

It first called our attention two years ago in 2012 when we noticed an empty office and an Instagram feed full of photos of people, boys and girls, flexing their abs, as though on spring break, having so! Much! Fun! These posts—which reek of grade A douch baggery— are accompanied with a paragraph of hashtags, chief of which is #LaBoracay. Last year’s edition must’ve have been monumental because this year, there are so many sponsored parties happening on the island on May 1.

This new tumblr account, Boracayhater.tumblr.com has the best explanation yet: “the annual man-made catastrophe that draws swarms of douchbags and airheads to this island.” The explanation comes from this link, already viral BTW: “The 7 Best #Laboracay Photos on Instagram Right Now.” The photos are great but the snarky remarks below them certainly steal the show. It’s making the social media rounds, sprucing up this drab Friday afternoon.

This is the first of what’s looking to be a story series. The “7 Best #Laboracay Photos…” documents the difficult road to the May 1 event, which Boracay Hater has deemed: “Phase 1: The Preparation,”

Boracay Hater: “Life is so unfair! Fuck our life. You’ve been drinking and drinking and you still have those fuschia pants?!!”

Boracay Hater: “Thank you for sharing your regimen for those ravishing arms. We’ll make sure to notice them when you’re here.”

Boracay Hater:“Counting + The + Days = 3 words. Someone teach her to count or she might miss the biggest event of her life.”

See the rest here. And for you, Boracay Hater, we can’t wait for your next installment!
