Whistleblower group leader says she has copy of Napoles list

This may be the start of something really complicated.

“In a news forum on Thursday, April 24, the president of the Whistlebowers Association, Sandra Cam, bared that she has in her possession a copy of the names of government officials and lawmakers who had personally benefited from the pork scam as listed by Janet Lim Napoles,” report Ninez Cacho-Olivares and Charlie V. Manalo in The Daily Tribune.

Cam herself was a witness in the Senate investigation into a jueteng payola scam in 2005.

When Cam was asked how she got hold of Napoles’ list, Cam said, “Someone gave it to me before the Holy Week. But I cannot reveal the name of my source as I have to protect him. He just contacted me and told me he was going to give me a copy of the list Napoles allegedly wrote down so as to compare it with that of Leila de Lima whom he said will announce this after the Holy Week Napoles has finally confessed to her.”

The report noted that “despite prodding from the media, Cam would not divulge the identities of those allegedly included in the Napoles.” She only quipped, “All I can say is that aside from Senators Jinggoy (Estrada), Bong (Revilla) and JPE (Juan Ponce Enrile), there are at least 13 more senators included in the list, two Cabinet secretaries and a lot of congressmen.”

But then, the report revealed: “However, a Tribune source bared that the two Cabinet secretaries Cam was referring to were no other than Budget Secretary Butch Abad and Agriculture Secretary Proceso Alcala, as listed among those in the executive department.”

The report went on to add: “Aside from Abad and Alcala, the source bared that other lawmakers Napoles listed were Senators Alan Peter Cayetano, Manny Villar, Loren Legarda, Lito Lapid, Francis Escudero, Tito Sotto, Frank Drilon, Miriam Defensor-Santago, Pia Cayetano, Jinggoy Estrada, Bong Revilla, and Juan Ponce Enrile.”

It should be noted, though, that the Tribune does not name the source who has made the allegations. The report also didn’t say if they tried to contact those whom the source named for their response to the allegation.
