Remember Roxanne Cabanero? You know, the girl who accused Vhong Navarro of raping her in April 2010?
She is back in the spotlight, now that it’s been revealed she is one of the 21 official candidates of the 2014 Miss World Philippines beauty pageant.
The 24-year old Cebuana beauty shared with Pep.ph that her joining the beauty contest “was a decision made by me and my boyfriend (rugby player Arnold Aninion, who was also a castaway in Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown), and my family din.”
She explained, “ There was a psychological battle after nung sa case last seven months ago so I have this… parang alam mo yung feeling na you don’t want to go out sa bahay? And then sabi nga ng psychologist ko na, ‘You have to go out there and reclaim your confidence again ‘coz talo ka pag hindi ka lumabas.’”
She believes that hiding at home for seven months now is no longer healthy and that she wants to reclaim the confidence she lost because of being publicly humiliated.
“Parang life must go on, I should live my dream and, you know, parang I deserve this naman.”
