“At least four barangays in Mandaluyong City—Barangay Addition Hills, Barangay Plainview, Barangay Daang Bakal, and Barangay Villarica—are flooded as Typhoon Mario continues to bring heavy rains,” reports Gus Abelgas on ABS-CBNnews.com.
Most of the streets in the said barangays are “impassable due to waist-deep flood water.” Rescue teams have been deployed in the area. They use rubber boats and lifebuoys to bring residents to safe grounds.
The report noted: “Motorists are advised to avoid the Shaw Boulevard- Daang Bakal area due to floods.”
Around 400 families have been evacuated and are now staying in four designated evacuation centers.
