Marikina River water level goes down, but authorities still on alert

Marikina City is under a state of calamity, so this should be welcome news.

“As of 8am on Saturday, September 20, the Marikina River water level is down to 6.6 meters—significantly lower than the 19.9 meters that it reached when Typhoon Mario brought heavy rains,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.

However, local authorities are still on alert.

The report noted: “The 33,000 residents who are staying at various evacuation centers are asked not to return to their homes just yet.”
