“Fil-Am Wayne Algenio ate 40 boiled 18-day-old fertilized duck eggs or balut in five minutes in order to win the Maharlika/Jeepney Balut Eating Championship belt at the Hester Street Fair in Brooklyn, New York over the weekend,” reports Don Tagala on ABS-CBNnews.com.
It’s the third win for the 29-year-old Algenio, who, as the report indicated, “even broke his own record of downing 38 balut last year and 18 eggs when the balut-eating contest debuted in 2012.”
Algenio was quoted as saying, “Great event, I always have fun here. I hope you guys have fun also. It’s awesome seeing you guys to come out and cheer.”
