Pinay group MICA eliminated from Korean show ‘Mnet Superstar K’

Bet you didn’t know there’s a Pinay group competing in a South Korean TV show. The group is called MICA, also known as the Gollayan sisters composed of sisters Mylene, Irene, Celina, and Almira, and they are part of the talent search called Mnet Superstar K. The girls are kind of known back here since they’ve been joining some other contests but sadly, they haven’t really achieved any great mainstream success.

Winning in the South Korean talent search could just be the big break they’re waiting for but sadly, they just got booted out recently.

Despite a great performances of songs like 2NE1’s “Missing You.”

Or that “Let It Go” song.

Or Mariah Carey’s “I’ll Be There” together with a Korean contestant.

Expectedly, a lot of netizens – mostly Pinoys – were disappointed with the decision, and complained about how it was unfair for the show to let foreigners join if they were bent on getting a Korean winner.

On the other hand, some explained that the show is all about discovering the next K-Pop star and the group’s Korean language skills weren’t that good.

Oh well.
