Former Binay ally claims Binay family has 350-hectare farm in Batangas

It’s a farm unlike any other.

“In his testimony before the Senate Blue Ribbon subcommittee, former Makati Vice Mayor Ernesto Mercado on Wednesday, October 8, claimed the Binay family owns a 350-hectare property in Batangas,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.

Mercado—a former ally of Vice President Jejomar Binay—says the huge property in Rosario, Batangas is “equivalent to six Luneta Parks, 10 Araneta Centers, or even half the city of San Juan.”

Mercado added that the estate has “two mansions, an airconditioned piggery, orchid farm, cock farm, horse ranch and a man-made lagoon.”

Moreover, Mercado said “one portion of the property has a maze garden similar to the Kew Gardens in London.”

The report noted: “Mercado said he visited the Kew Gardens in 2007 upon the instruction of Dr. Elenita Binay, wife of the Vice-President, because she wanted to copy it.”

However, Mercado said “the maze garden in the alleged Binay property is bigger than the one in London.”

Mercado estimated the cost of the entire property at PHP1.2 billion.
