DILG Sec Mar Roxas fires 4 Metro Manila police district heads

Watch out, heads are rolling! 

“Four of Metro Manila’s five police districts will have new directors after Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Manuel ‘Mar’ Roxas II approved the changes recommended by the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) to curb criminality in the metropolis,” reports GMA News Online.

The following were removed from their posts: 

1. Chief Superintendent Rolando Asuncion of the Manila Police District (MPD)
He will be replaced by Senior Superintendent Rolando Nana.

2. Chief Superintendent Edgardo Layon of Northern Police District (NPD)
He will be replaced by Chief Superintendent Henry Rañola.

3. Chief Superintendent Richard Albano of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD)
He will be replaced by Senior Superintendent Joel Pagdilao.

4. Chief Superintendent Jet Erwin Villacorte of the Southern Police District (SPD)
He will be replaced by Chief Superintendent Ferdinand Miano.

The report noted: “Chief Superintendent Abelardo Villacorta of the Eastern Police District was spared from the sacking. He was credited with the arrest of 10 policemen from the La Loma Police Station, who figured in in the EDSA ‘hulidap’ case.”
