Truck crashes into electric post, 1,000 QC homes lose power

One man’s mistake can cause a great deal of inconvenience to many people.

“In the early hours of Tuesday, October 21, a dump truck crashed into an electric post near a gas station in Payatas Road, Quezon City, cutting off power supply in the area,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.

The report said that due to the crash, “about a thousand households in the Barangays of Commonwealth, Payatas, and Lupang Pangako were been affected.”

According to the driver, he “lost control of his truck and opted to ram it into the electric post as it moved along the downward-sloping road.”

The driver and his passenger sustained minor injuries and were treated at a nearby hospital.

Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) personnel went to the crash site and worked on restoring power to the affected areas. As they stated in earlier reports, they expected power to be back by noon.
