For bicycle freaks: Marikina holds Halloween bike, costume contest

It’s got tricks, treats, and, of course, bikes.

“The Marikina City government is inviting everyone to participate in a nighttime cycling competition called the Halloween Midnight Scary Ride on Saturday, October 25,” reports Non Alquitran in The Philippine Star.

The competition, which is free and open to all, will start at the Plaza Delos Alcaldes at 10pm.

The report noted: “The competition is divided into different categories such as Best in Lights Decoration, Most Unique Bike, Best Fantasy Bike, and Most Decorated Scary Bike for the participant’s bicycle entries.”

Awards will also be given out for Best in Scary Costume (Pinoy Edition/Foreign Edition), Best in Fantasy Costume (Pinoy Edition/Foreign Edition), Youngest Biker in Scary Costume, Oldest Biker in Scary Costume, and Biggest Delegation in Scary Costume.

A flea market for bicycle parts and accessories will open at 5pm at Marikina City Plaza.

Those interested in joining the cycling competition may call +63 2 6829575 and +63 2 6473119.
