Jim Paredes gets death threat on Twitter from a fan of VP Binay

Some people act like they’re in an action film when they’re online. In this instance, a man who fancies himself as the defender of a politician may have gotten carried away.

“Singer Jim Paredes filed a complaint before the Philippine National Police (PNP) Anti-Cybercrime Division after a certain Rex Vincent Tecson made a death threat to him over Twitter,” reports ANC.

The report said Tecson — who describes himself as a “Lawyer, Civil Engineer, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of the Philippines” on his Twitter page — made the threat after Paredes criticized Vice President Jejomar Binay.

Paredes had tweeted: “Binay’s decision not to attend the hearings and all his moves after that have been utterly disastrous. It seems he has everyting to hide.”

Tecson responded with this tweet: “Ikaw Mr. @Jimparedes Aalamin namin ang Bahay mo dyan sa Manila. SALVAGE ang Aabutin mo. Sa Oras Mag-Mention ka pa Uli kay @VPjojoBinay.”

The report noted: “According PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group Intelligence and Investigation Chief Jay Guillermo, Paredes had the incident recorded on their blotter at around 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 23.”

Paredes later revealed that he received information that Tecson works for the city of Makati.

The death threat tweets no longer appear on Tecson’s Twitter timeline. However, several users had already taken screenshots of the menacing tweets.
