This time around, the actor who had served as senator, is eyeing a position in the 1st District of Pampanga.
“Atty. Willie Rivera, an ally Lapid, recently confirmed that the former senator is planning to run either for mayor of this city or congressman of Pampanga’s 1st district in 2016,” reports Ding Cervantes in The Philippine Star.
According to Rivera, “Lapid would try to slug it out with incumbent Angeles Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan.”
The report noted: “Rivera, whom Lapid anointed to be his running mate should he run for mayor of this city, said the former senator’s registration with the Commission on Elections (Comelec) for a change of residential address indicated his plans for 2016.”
The report likwise pointed out that “Lapid bought a PHP16-million mansion at Friendship Plaza subdivision in Barangay Pampang in Angeles City, Pampanga.” The said mansion doesn’t seem to be his only one.
