We don’t know yet if the adjusted schedule applies to malls that are not located along EDSA. They’ll most likely clarify it later on when more people become confused.

“Mall operators have agreed with a proposal from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) to adjust mall hours to ease traffic during the holidays. The new schedule will be in effect from November 28, 2014 to January 3, 2015,” reports PTV News.

Thus, malls will now be open from 11am to 11pm instead of 10am to 10pm

The report noted: “Tolentino said that all mall operators agreed on the said hours, except those which stand along supermarkets that open regularly at 9am.”

Tolentino’s exact words: “”Halos lahat nagkasundo na ang mga malls along EDSA ang operating hours ay [magiging] 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. simula November 28  hanggang January 3 (Almost everyone agreed that the operating hours of malls along EDSA should have operating hours from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. starting November 28 to January 3).”

The report further said that mall operations on Dec 24 will be 12 noon to 7pm, while on the New Year’s eve would be 12 noon to 7pm, except those who were having a countdown, whereby they would be allowed to operate until 1am.

On Dec 25 and Jan 1, malls will open from 12 noon up to 8pm.
