What’s up with all these code names?

“Benhur Luy added yet another name to the growing roster of Sen. Jinggoy Estrada’s code names Monday when he revealed that Estrada is also sometimes referred to as ‘Cong. Biazon’ in his transaction records,” reports Patricia Denise Chiu on GMA News Online.

The report noted: ” According to the daily disbursement record Luy presented to the court on Monday, November 24, Estrada allegedly received PHP11.97 million in kickbacks from a PHP30-million liquid fertilizer project of the Department of Agriculture in March 2005. Luy’s records showed that the project’s commission was attributed to a certain ‘Cong. Biazon.'”

Luy claimed that the name, “Cong. Biazon,” refers to Estrada. Luy added that “the P11.97M amount was received by Pauline Labayen, Estrada’s deputy chief of staff, who then delivered it to her boss.”

Labayen, who is also charged with plunder and 11 counts of graft, is currently at large.

Estrada is facing one count of plunder and 11 counts of graft at the Sandiganbayan for allegedly getting PHP183.79 million in kickbacks from dealings with fake NGOs from 2004 to 2012. He is currently detained in Camp Crame.

Upon hearing Luy say that he was “Cong. Boazon,” Estrada, who was present at his bail hearing, was heard muttering the word, “sinungaling (liar).”

In an interview with reporters after the hearing, Estrada reiterared that “Luy was lying and could be trying to cover up for the real congressman Biazon, former Muntinlupa Rep. Ruffy Biazon, who also served as Customs Commissioner.”

“Pati ako nagulat eh. In-attribute pa ata sa akin ang alleged commission ni Congressman Biazon. Hindi ko alam. Ngayon ko lang narinig na may code name na ako na Anak, na Sexy, ngayon naman Biazon daw. That’s very ridiculous. Talagang sinungaling, from the very start sinungaling talaga,” Estrada said.
