It’s something you never think would happen…until it does.

“Clyde Samson, 8, a Grade 3 student of Baguio Central School died after accidentally getting hit with a baseball bat,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.

Based on the autopsy result, the boy died of “hemorrhage due to blunt injury.”

The report noted: “Investigation showed that Samson was in school for an enhancer class on the day of the incident. There were also some baseball players practicing in school for the Palarong Panlunsod. Clyde had entered the area where baseball players were practicing and tried to pick up a paper ball when he was hit with a baseball bat by a certain ‘Michael,’ a Grade 4 student.”

A teacher tried to give the boy first aid treatment. But then, witnesses say he later started throwing up blood. He was taken to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

According to the police, “although ‘Michael’ will not be criminally liable for the incident, his parents will face civil liability. The school administration may also be held liable for the incident.”
