In a radio interview over the weekend, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Francis Tolentino asked motorists not to give gifts or tokens to traffic enforcers.

“Please don’t offer even bottled water to traffic enforcers,” he said.

“Tolentino explained that traffic enforcers have been reminded to refrain from accepting or soliciting gifts (even when they are not on duty) as the anti-graft law prohibits civil servants from accepting, directly or indirectly, a gift during Christmas or other occasions from any person other than a member of their immediate family,” reports Perseus Echeminada in The Philippine Star.
