On Sun, Nov 23, a driver named Joven Baslot, 60, died in the home of Naawan, Misamis Oriental Mayor Jaime Roa while he was watching the pay-per-view broadcast of the Manny Pacquiao-Chris Algieri fight.
“Those around him notice that Baslot suddenly slumped on his seat on Round 9,” reports Ronnie Enderes on ABS-CBNnews.com.
It was totally unexpected, as witnesses said Baslot seemed energetic when the fight started. He didn’t seem sick, either.
Baslot was immediately rushed to the hospital, but doctos declared him dead on arrival.
Baslot’s wife said her late husband was such a big Pacman fan, so she was certain he was happy when he passed away. She added that he had watched all of Pacquiao’s fights.
