In a press release, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) Asia Pacific announced, “reigning Binibining Pilipinas Universe MJ Lastimosa has been crowned the Philippines’ 2014 Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity after a fierce, month-long poll battle that recently ended on PETAAsiaPacific.com.”
The announcement noted that “Lastimosa narrowly beat out musician Geneva Cruz and models Sandra Seifert and Amanda Griffin Jacob for the title.”
Also in the running for the Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity title were Chin Chin Gutierrez, Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan, Delara leader singer Lougee Basabas.
The names of the following international personalities were also part of the poll: former U.S. President Bill Clinton, Jason Mraz, Paul McCartney, Ellen DeGeneres, Natalie Portman, Tobey Maguire, and Jared Leto.
PETA Asia Pacific explained that “winners were selected based on several factors, including vote count.”
