In their desire to rid their home of so-called “bad spirits,” a couple let the wrong person in.

“A couple lost nearly PHP500,000 in cash and jewelry to a fake feng shui expert who promised to rid their house of ‘bad spirits,'” reports ANC.

According to Carmela (not her name), she and her husband had gotten used to people telling them that their house seemed to have a lot of “negativity.”

She said people complained of feeling uneasy whenever they were in the house.

One day, as Carmela was looking through Instagram, she chanced upon a transgender woman who went by the name “Celine.”

Celine was advertising herself as a “feng shui expert.”

Carmela got in touch with Celine and detailed the problem they were having with their home.

The report noted: “At first, Celine asked Carmela to send pictures of her house. After looking at the photos of the home’s interiors and surroundings, Celine told Carmela that there were three malevolent female spirits inside the house who were making them sick.”

Next, Celine asked for PHP30,000 as her fee to do some sort of cleansing or luck-enhancing rituals in Carmela’s home.

Carmela said Celine placed lucky charms all over their house a few months ago.

Then, after some time, Celine came back for yet another ritual where she asked Carmela and her husband “to take out all their jewelry, wrap them in clothes that they usually wear and place these in three boxes inside the house.”

The report revealed: “Celine told the couple to open one box after three days, the second box after three months, and the last box after three years.”

After the three boxes had jewelry inside them, they were closed. Celine then asked Carmela and her husband to close their eyes as she did her incantations or what-not.

Of course, the couple followed Celine’s instructions. Carmela likewise also sold a branded bag to Celine, who paid for it with a check.

When it was time to open the first box, Carmela was surprised to see that the jewelry that she had placed inside it was missing. She opened the other two boxes and found these also empty.

The check that Celine used to pay for the bag also bounced. They also couldn’t contact her anymore.

Carmela and her husband went to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for help. So far, the operatives have told them that Celine’s legal name is “Ivan Borromeo.”

The NBI agents are now trying to track down Celine/Ivan Borromeo.
