“Last Sunday, Nov 23, boxing fans in the Science City of Muñoz in Nueva Ecija province became anxious while watching what turned out to be the undercard fight of the Manny Pacquiao-Chris Algieri match, when they saw Thai boxer Kwanpichit Onesongchaigym taking a beating from China’s Zou Shiming,” report Anselmo Roque and Villamor Visaya Jr. in Philippine Daily Inquirer.
The report noted: “It took sometime for them to realize Onesongchaigym, who bore a striking resemblance to Pacquiao, was not their idol, and many gave out a hearty laugh.”
Sports pundits also remarked on Onesongchaigym’s uncanny resemblance to Pacquiao. Some even called him Pacquiao’s “mini me.”
Pacquiao himself reportedly had a blast posing with Onesongchaigym at a press conference before their respective fights in Macau.
However, while Pacquiao was victorious, his Thai “twin” wasn’t so lucky against his Chinese opponent.
