Sen. Cynthia Villar says her husband, former senator Manny Villar, isn’t among the Nacionalista Party (NP) contenders for president in 2016.

“Sen. Cynthia Villar clarified that NP is choosing its presidential bet for 2016 from just three of its members — and her husband, NP president and former senator Manuel Villar is not among them,” reports Ernie Reyes on InterAksyon.

This is contrary to what was stated by Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV.

Trillanes had earlier told reporters that he, along with former Sen. Villar, Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, and Sen. Bongbong Marcos were being considered as NP’s potential presidential contenders for 2016.

“As far as I know, those who have the possibility to run are Bongbong, Alan, and Trillanes,” Sen. Villar said.
