If we hear another person justifying these robberies as part of the “Christmas rush,” we’re going to scream.

“Police are now looking for a taxi driver who robbed and shot a female passenger earlier this week,” reports ANC.

The report noted: “Claire (not her real name), 31, boarded a taxi at the corner of EDSA and Santolan shortly before 5 a.m. on Monday, November 24.”

According to Claire, when the taxi was near Gate 1 of Camp Crame, the driver declared a robbery. He pointed a gun at her.

She said that she tried to fight off the driver when he grabbed her bag. That was when he fired four shots, hitting her once on her arm.

Claire said the driver seemed to panic when he saw blood gushing from her arm. He then drove the cab to the MRT Ortigas station, pulled her out of the vehicle, and left her on the road. He sped off with her bag, which contained laptop, cellphone, and cash were inside the bag.

A concerned citizen brought Claire to the hospital.

The report revealed: “Claire was able to remember only some details about the cab. She said the taxi’s name was Ken and its license plate had the letters ‘UVA.’ However, when police went to the Ken taxi office, they were told that there was no taxi there with ‘UVA’ on its license plate.”

The investigation is ongoing.
