Friday began badly for some people.

“Two people were injured after the car they were riding slammed into a cement mixer along Agham Road corner North Avenue in Quezon City on Friday morning,” reports Dexter Ganibe on ABS-CBNnews.com.

According to witnesses, the cement mixer had just stopped because of a red light when a speeding Toyota Altis vehicle crashed into it at around 6am.”

Both the car and the cement mixer sustained considerable damage.

The report noted: “The driver of the car, identified as Randolph Acuña, sustained wounds on his forehead. Police suspect he was drunk because he smelled of alcohol.”

Acuña’s passenger, who was pinned to his seat due to the collision, was rescued by authorities.

The investigation is still ongoing.
