Winter isn’t exactly coming, but the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reports that the temperature in Baguio City  dropped to 12°C on Thu, Dec 17.

“The weather bureau said it expects the temperature in the country’s summer capital to further drop in the coming days,” reports Armenio Supang on ABS-CBNnews.com.

PAGASA explained that “the chilly weather is due to the presence of the northeast monsoon or amihan, which is currently affecting Northern Luzon.”

The report noted: “As early as October, tourists started to flock to Baguio to experience the cold weather.”

The report also added that “the lowest temperature so far recorded in Baguio City was 6.3 degrees Celsius on January 18, 1961.”
