What the child’s mother did was heartless. It was just fortunate that thr ight people found the child.

Just recently, a woman wrote a Facebook post about a little girl who was seen wandering inside a shop within a Quezon City mall last Dec 14. The woman revealed that she herself was supposed to report a separate incident about her stolen phone. However, she evidently took pity on the child. (Note: We surmise that the woman doesn’t want to be identified, as she is not mentioned by name in the accounts of this tale.)

The woman revealed in her post that the child had been found at Blue Magic. The security guard who brought her to the office of the mall management said that the girl had been “carrying her milk bottle and crying her eyes out.”

The woman wrote: “The office staff had to buy diapers and milk because of how long she was there.” The child was found at 2pm and the woman noted that she was still there at around 8pm.

The woman then took photos of the child and posted them online.

“Before midnight Wednesday December 17, a cousin of the child’s mother contacted the woman who wrote the Facebook post about the little girl. The cousin revealed that the child’s mother was just 17 years old and that they were not aware of what the mother did to the child until they saw the viral Facebook post,” reports Tetch Torres-Tupas on Inquirer.net.

Apparently, the child’s teen mother had told everyone she was taking the kid to an aunt.

The report noted: “The relatives were able to coordinate with DSWD through the woman’s help. The grandmother will have custody of the child.”
