Strange partnerships have been forged in Philippine politics. Yet, sometimes, we’re surprised when we find out who’s teaming up with whom. In this case, nothing’s definite yet though.

“Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada and Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Mar Roxas signed a trust fund for informal settler families in Baseco, Tondo on Thursday, December 18,” reports Jeff Canoy on ABS-CBNnews.com.

The report noted: “In his speech, Estrada gave credit to Roxas for his efforts as his former Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary during his term as president. Estrada praised Roxas for his e-commerce and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) initiatives.”

In fact, Roxas became popular as “Mr, Palengke” during that time.

Interestingly enough, Estrada added a disclaimer in his speech. He pointed out that he was not endorsing Roxas, who is rumored to be running for president in 2016.

However, when Estrada was later asked if he would ever consider endorsing Roxas, he replied in Filipino, “We each belong to different parties…but it depends.”
